My life-size figures begin on a very intimate scale of personal feelings and grow to the more universal statements of human emotions which range from simple to complex, and may include different shades of tenderness, curiosity, spontaneity, self-admiration, contemplation, naiveté, kindness, vulnerability, and love. My work is based in a figurative tradition, and yet stands apart from it with the simplicity of execution and directness of expression. I intuitively express each emotion through gestures, intricate and smooth textures, and paint which I apply in the process of making a piece and which carries formal, decorative, and psychological meanings.

Plaster sculptures can be cast in bronze. Quality of the paint application will be preserved.
